The Monro is located on the historic thoroughfare of Duke Street, which dates back to 1746. This former merchant’s house is steeped in the maritime history, originally two houses, it became an inn for seamen returning home to Liverpool’s bustling port in the late 18th Century and has remained a busy hostelry ever since. The restaurant itself is named after the first ever scheduled passenger service to New York in 1817.
