Friends told me a few years go before The Monro and our younger sister restaurant The James Monro were born that it's tough getting your hands on really good, genuine food & drink in our city.

Harsh but fair in the 1990s, but the last decade has changed all of that. We've earnt some serious accolades, both national and regional, amongst media and the general public.

It's been very satisfying that people now refer to us as a champion of what we do, Gastro. From day one, we always tried to be a contender. Some say it's true that in the restaurant market you have to rely on luck to have a rewarding time.
