SIX British gins that you must try right now!
They said the gin craze woudn't last! Wrong. And why? Because it's a revival that's come from the hearts of our own inventive British producers. Here are six of the best British gins that you need to know about.
Small batch, genuinely artisan and supremely quaffable. Sit back, relax as we share our top six!
TAPPER'S DARKSIDE GIN - West Kirby, Wirral

Yes, you read that right - a new gin from West Kirby on the Wirrral! Darkside gin is made by Steve Tapril in batches of about 40 bottles, by hand from start to finish in West Kirby. It's a truly artisan gin.
There are eight botanicals in Tapper’s Darkside Gin including sea beet, chickweed and red clover flowers and leaves which combine to create a sweet gin with delightful herbal undertones, all of which represent the coastal heritage of this excellent gin. With a natural amber-hue, it's smooth and dry to finish.
BOATYARD DOUBLE GIN - Lough Ernei, Northern Ireland

The Boatyard distillery is located on the shores of Lough Erneis in Northern Ireland and was founded by Joe McGirr. He says: “Boatyard Double Gin is the essence of Fermanagh.
Organic wheat spirit goes through a double distillation process using botanicals which have been foraged and selected for exceptional flavour".The harmony of flavours and aromas produces a smooth juniper-led gin, with notes of citrus and floral sweetness. It's a sippable tipple that's so interesting, it doesn't need garnish.
CONKER SPIRIT DORSET DRY - Bournemouth, Dorset

Rupert Holloway is the maker of Conker Spirits Dry Gin and believes the botanicals should be tasted equally and work in harmony for a complex and balanced spirit.
Taking inspiration from the landscape around him, Rupert uses a blend of hand-picked Dorset grown botanicals such as samphire and gorse flowers. The gin balances the ten botanicals perfectly to create a unique and complex gin.
MASONS ORIGINAL DRY YORKSHIRE GIN - Bedale, Yorkshire

Husband and wife, Karl and Catherine Mason created Masons Original Dry Yorkshire Gin with a distinctly different flavour profile. They use local Harrogate spring water with their own combination of secret botanicals.
Winner of the #HotCraftSpirits competition in 2017, the resulting gin is contemporary in style and packed with flavour. With aromas of liquorice, pepper and coriander, the finish has a little smokiness. Perfect for by the fire.
PINKSTER GIN - Cambridge

Stephen Marsh founded Pinkster in Cambridge and he makes a refreshingly different G&T. It's a pink gin with a difference as its botanicals include raspberries. Real ones.
It's deliciously dry with a hint of fruit and an exceptionally smooth finish and took 10 years to perfect. Nothing goes to waste at the distillery as the leftover (and rather inebriated) raspberries are turned into gin jam! Voted Top Contemporary Gin at the Gin Guild Awards 2017.
Tarquin's Brilliantly British Blackberry Gin - St Ervan, Cornwall

Tarquin's Brilliantly British Blackberry Gin is a gin that proudly celebrates our great British blackberry, and the result is something really special.
Rich burgundy in colour, with a delectable aroma of blackberry crumble, berries and spice. The palate boasts crisp juniper with notes of lemon, raspberry and the rounded sweetness of wildflower honey. Put your feet up and sip neat over ice.
